My name is George Boghozian, an Iranian of Armenian ethnicity, and a healthcare professional with more than three decades of cumulative experience as a Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS) in Iran and Switzerland (1985-1996) and as a Dr. of Chiropractic (DC) in Canada and the USA (2004-present). I was born and raised in an Armenian family in Tehran, Iran. After graduating from Kooshesh Armenian High School, I entered the Iran University of Medical Sciences to study Clinical Lab Sciences, where I received my BS degree (May 1985). My career as a CLS started at the Transplantation Immunology Dept. of the Iranian Blood Transfusion Organization (1985-1989) and ended at the Hematology Lab of Triemli Hospital in Zurich, Switzerland (1989-1996). My journey to becoming a DC started when I immigrated to Canada in 1996 and found an opportunity to pursue my interests in sports and health science combined. I studied Kinesiology & Health Science at York University in Toronto (1998-2000) and subsequently Chiropractic at the Los Angeles campus of Cleveland University (2000-2003), where I attained my DC degree (December 2003). In addition to DC, I hold a postdoctoral MS in Clinical Management of Pain from the University of Edinburgh (November 2014). I also hold Radiography and Fluoroscopy Supervisor & Operator Permits issued by the Radiologic Health Branch (RHB) of the California Department of Public Health (CDPH).
Since 2004, I have been practicing general chiropractic (wellness-based) as well as physical rehab & pain management of musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions by utilizing:
1. Manual therapies, including chiropractic manipulation treatment (CMT), joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, and trigger point therapy.
2. Passive physiotherapeutic modalities, including thermal therapy (heat & cold), electrotherapy, ultrasound, and laser.
3. Active therapies such as rehab therapeutic exercises.
In addition to practicing chiropractic, I have teaching experience as an adjunct lecturer and instructor at Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (Systems Pathology 2005-2006) and Trios College of Windsor, Ontario (Physical Therapy Assistant 2006-2007), respectively. I speak Armenian, Persian (Farsi), German (not fluently), and some Spanish (un poquito). Here are links to my CV and Academia page (which contains some of my lecture notes and academic papers).
