Welcome to my informative website for patient education about chiropractic, physical rehabilitation, and pain management. I developed this website because I believe that educated patients are better prepared to make decisions about their health and well-being. Patient education and open communication with the primary care provider are key to achieving healthy, fully functional outcomes and patient satisfaction. I really appreciate your taking the time to visit my website.

Chiropractic

Chiropractic is a system of diagnosis and treatment based on the concept that the nervous system coordinates all of the body's functions. Chiropractic employs manipulation and adjustment of body structures, such as the spinal column, to relieve pressure on nerves arising from the spinal cord caused by displacement (subluxation) of a vertebral body. Chiropractic care is a patient-centered, noninvasive, hands-on, regulated health care profession focused on the spine, muscles, joints, and nervous system.  It is a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) focused on treating spinal and musculoskeletal problems, primarily through manual manipulation, including spinal manipulation and mobilization, as well as adjunctive therapies.

Physical Rehab

Physical rehabilitation is the process an injured or deconditioned person undergoes to restore their physical functioning.  It is an umbrella term for the overarching process a person goes through. A person undergoing physical rehabilitation might work with various professionals who use different intervention techniques, such as medication or injections administered by a physiatrist, home exercise programs prescribed by a chiropractor or physical therapist, and retraining in activities of daily living with an occupational therapist. Physical rehabilitation will help patients with tasks in their daily lives, such as preparing meals, bathing, working, caring for children, and more.

Pain Management

Pain management is designed to treat chronic pain and allow a person to live a whole, enjoyable life. Pain management requires dedication, commitment, and knowledge to achieve the best results. It can be a great alternative to back pain surgery. It's essential to understand the differences between non-invasive, non-drug pain management (e.g., thermal therapy, electrotherapy), regular pain management (e.g., pain medications and antidepressants), and invasive pain management (e.g., injections). Pain management aims to evaluate, diagnose, and treat different types of pain. It often involves a multidisciplinary approach, including doctors from various specialties.
